To Keukenhof from Amsterdam by direct transfer bus

Take a transfer bus from Amsterdam if you want to travel to Keukenhof with most comfort. There are two different direct transfers. Their main difference is the departure location. For the rest they both include a return bus ride to Keukenhof and entrance to the park.

Option 1. Shuttle bus departing from the This is Holland experience (). If you travel from Amsterdam Central station you need to take a free ferry across the IJ river (direction Buiksloterweg) and then walk for approximately two minutes to This is Holland/ A’DAM Tower.

With this transfer you always get a guaranteed seat (unlike in public transport). Comfortable coach buses depart from Amsterdam every 30 minutes from 08:00 till 15:30. You can stay at Keukenhof as long as you want. The last bus back to Amsterdam departs at 18:30, and you can take any bus – return times are flexible.

Travel time to Keukenhof is around 45 minutes. The prices range from €35 to €52,50 depending on the season and departure time. Book tickets online.

Combi-tickets for Keukenhof + bus from Amsterdam for the 2026 season are not yet for sale. But you can already book your regular Keukenhof entrance tickets and pay for the bus with OV-pay (tap in and tap out with your bank pass) orAmsterdam & Region Travel ticket.

In 2026 prior reservation is required for all kinds of tickets to the Keukenhof gardens.

The time that you choose during the booking process is based on departure with the bus line 852 from Europaplein/RAI Amsterdam. The first Keukenhof bus from Amsterdam RAI departs at 07:30, and the last return bus to Amsterdam departs from Keukenhof at 19:45. Expected travel time is 35 minutes.

Important: If you travel with a combi-ticket, you will need a separate public transport ticket to travel from Amsterdam center to Amsterdam RAI by metro line 52. Amsterdam & Region travel ticket is valid both in the bus 852 and metro line 52 (but doesn’t include Keukenhof entrance).

There is no train station directly next to Keukenhof. But you might still want to travel by train if you plan to visit tulip fields around Hillegom train station.

This is how you can travel to Keukenhof from Amsterdam by train + bus:

1. Take a train from Amsterdam Centraal to Leiden Centraal (one-way ticket from Amsterdam costs € 12,60 in 2026).

 

2. At Leiden Centraal station change to the bus line 854 (Leiden – Keukenhof express). Combi-ticket from Leiden (entrance + return transfer) costs € 33,50.

How to travel to Keukenhof by car?

The Keukenhof gardens are located between Amsterdam and Leiden. Keukenhof official address: Stationsweg 166A, Lisse.

Keukenhof has two parking lots – P1 and P2.

It will take you around 40 minutes to drive from Amsterdam to Lisse. Parking near Keukenhof costs € 9 – € 15 a day. Parking tickets are available online.

All buses from Amsterdam to Keukenhof are non-stop, but they have different departure points. Public transport buses depart from Amsterdam RAI and Schiphol airport. Transfer buses depart from Central Station and This is Holland/ A’DAM Tower. The closest, 15 minutes walk from the Passenger Terminal Amsterdam, departure point is Tours & Tickets, De Ruijterkade 34. Another option is the bus from A’DAM Tower. It’s also not far, from the Central Station you have to cross the river by free ferry boat.
