But it is better to have some cash for small purchases or places that may not accept cards.
You can pay cash in many places in Amsterdam, but more an more places in the Netherlands choose to be cashless. For example, you cannot buy a public transport ticket onboard with cash. Keukenhof is also cashless, you need to have a credit or debit card or contactless payment method to pay in the restaurants and shops within the park. If the place doesn’t accept cash, you will see a sign saying PIN ONLY (or Hier alleen pinnen in Dutch).
