Best time to visit Keukenhof in 2027

In 2027 Keukenhof is open from 18 March to 9 May. It stays beautiful the whole season. But most travellers want to visit Keukenhof during special festival events and during the fields blooming season. We’ll try to help you to decide when is the best time to visit Keukenhof in 2027.

Keukenhof 2027 tickets and prices

Keukenhof entrance tickets  for the 2027 season are not available yet, but you can already book your Keukenhof + transfer tickets from Amsterdam, from Schiphol airport, from Rotterdam and from The Hague for the 2027 season.

The best time to visit Keukenhof in 2027 is after 10 April 2027. Please take into account that lots of people are postponing their visit until the peak season, so there is a high chance that Keukenhof tickets will be sold out.

In 2027 the Keukenhof gardens entry tickets and combi-tickets are valid on a specific date and time. If you’re planning to visit Keukenhof during the peak season (April – first week of May), book your tickets well in advance.

Blooming season at Keukenhof

Keukenhof is beautiful during the whole opening season (18 March – 9 May 2027). However, to experience the gardens in the full floral splendor, the peak blooming period is usually in April.

Here’s a breakdown of the timing:

• Mid-March to early April: The early bloomers, such as crocuses and some early tulips, begin to appear. It’s a quieter time to visit, so you can enjoy the beauty of the flowers without the larger crowds.

• Mid to late April: This is when the majority of the tulips and other flowers are in full bloom. The gardens are at their most colorful and vibrant, with millions of flowers in bloom. It’s the peak time to visit, though it can be more crowded, especially on weekends.
• Early May: The tulips may start to fade, but many other flowers like lilies, orchids, and hyacinths remain in bloom. It’s a good time to visit if you prefer slightly fewer crowds and still want to see a variety of flowers.

For the best experience, try to visit during the middle of the blooming season (late April) to catch the full display of tulips at their peak. Keep in mind that Keukenhof is only open for a limited time each year, so planning your trip within this window ensures you don’t miss the fun!

When can you see the tulip fields near Keukenhof in bloom?

To see the tulip fields in bloom we recommend to visit Keukenhof from last decade of April to the first decade of May (though the exact dates are very dependent on weather). During this period the chance to see the flower fields in the Lisse and Hillegom area (around Keukenhof) in bloom is the highest.

Dutch Flower Parade (Bloemencorso) 2027

Another great occasion to visit the Netherlands in spring is the Dutch Flower Parade near Keukenhof. This season it will take place on 17 – 18 April 2027. It will start on 17 April 2027 around 08:00 in Noordwijk. Approximately at 15:45 the beautiful cars decorated with flowers will pass Lisse, near Keukenhof, and around 21:05 will arrive in Haarlem. There’s also an illuminated evening parade in Noordwijkerhout the night before, on 16 April 2027. On 18 April 2027 the flower compositions will remain on display in Haarlem.

We definitely recommend to visit this unique flower show! Please keep in mind that on 17 April 2027 the roads near Keukenhof will be blocked and the park will be crowded. So it can be a good idea to see the Flower parade on 10 or 11 April 2027, and to visit Keukenhof one day before or later.

Book your Keukenhof tickets in advance, as the dates around the Flower Parade were sold out even before the start of the Keukenhof opening season.

Busiest days during the Keukenhof season

There are some days during the Keukenhof season which are usually the most popular:

• Flower Parade weekend (17 – 18 April 2027)
• Easter break (26 – 29 March 2027)
• Dutch school vacations — meivakantie runs 24 April to 2 May 2027
• King’s Day (27 April 2027, which falls right in the middle of the May school break this year, so expect it to be extra busy)

If you plan to visit the gardens on these days, we recommend to book tickets as soon as you start planning your trip.

So, when is the best time to visit Keukenhof in 2027?

We would say it’s best to visit Keukenhof between 10 April and 2 May 2027, as during these weeks you can get the most complete experience. There is one thing to keep in mind if you’re visiting Keukenhof during this time: there will be lots of people. That’s why we recommend to book tickets, arrange a hotel in advance, and visit the gardens early in the morning, just after the opening.

If you want to enjoy flowers without crowds, the best time to visit Keukenhof is between 08:00 and 09:30 in the morning or after 17:00 (tip! evening light can be great for the photos). Keukenhof closes its entrance gates at 18:15.
