De 9 Straatjes (which means the Nine Streets) is a charming area in the middle of the canal belt of Amsterdam, Unesco World Heritage. It’s a famous its mixture of designer boutiques, art galleries, vintage clothing stores, gift shops, small cafés and restraunts. Most of the houses in De 9 Straatjes were built in the end of the Golden Age. So it’s a great place for walks, sightseeing and photoshoots as well!

De 9 straatjes consist of 9 (3 x 3) streets with the names referring to the old skin tanning industry (Reestraat, Berenstraat, Runstraat, Hartenstraat, Wolvenstraat, Huidenstraat, Gasthuismolensteeg, Oude Spiegelstraat, Wijde Heisteeg) crossed by the 4 main canals of Amsterdam (Singel, Herengracht, Keizersgracht, Prinsengracht).
How to get to the Nine Streets in Amsterdam?
From Amsterdam Centraal station, the shortest route to De 9 Straatjes is via Singel or Herengracht to Gasthuismolensteeg and Hartenstraat. From the Flower market (Bloemenmarkt) and Spui to Singel and Wijde Heisteeg. Walk from Leidseplein via Prinsengracht to Runstraat. If you are coming from a different area of Amsterdam, put your natigation on Wolvenstraat, the heart of the Nine Streets.
