Amsterdam Schiphol railway station is located directly under the airport. In the arrival hall follow the Trains sign to the Schiphol plaza hall. There you can use twelve escalators and three elevators to go up and down the station.

How to get from Amsterdam airport Schiphol to Amsterdam Center

A direct train will take you from Schiphol airport to Amsterdam downtown in 17 minutes. A single train ticket from Schiphol to Amsterdam Centraal in 2026 costs € 5,90. You can also pay for the train ride with OV-pay by checking in and out with your bank pass. Please note: checking in with OV-pay automatically entitles you to 2nd class travel on trains. You cannot travel 1st class with OV-pay.

Smoking area at the Schiphol train station

From 1 April 2020 the whole Schiphol airport is non-smoking. This also applies to electronic cigarettes. Smoking is also prohibited in the parking garages and train station at Schiphol.

There is only one smoking zone in close proximity to the Schiphol railway station. Schiphol travellers and visitors can smoke in Jan Dellaertplein, the square outside Schiphol Plaza.
